Corona Labs Acquires Game Minion

Corona Labs Acquires Game Minion

Corona Labs announced today that they have acquired Game Minion. Game Minion is a Free to Develop 100% RESTful API based service delivering easy to implement server side capabilities for game developers seamlessly on multiple platforms.

Game Minion's light-weight service includes features for:

  • Leaderboards & Achievements
  • Seamless Multiplatform Push Notification
  • Turn Based & Real-time Multiplayer
  • Custom Analytics Events
  • Cloud Storage
  • In-Game Chat
  • Social Networks Integration
  • much more...

Given that GREE will be shutting down the OpenFeint servers tomorrow with no equivalent service offering or seamless migration path, Game Minion should make for a great option for Corona Developers to Coronify their mobile games.

Back in April of 2012, Game Minion partnered with Corona Labs and made a Game Minion Corona SDK Library that can easily be dropped in and used as is or be used as a starting point for integrating the GM services into your game or app.

We'll be hanging out with one of Game Minion's founders, Mohamed Hamedi on Monday's Corona Geek hangout to discuss how Game Minion works and how it will compliment what the Corona SDK offers game and app developers.

If you have questions for Mohamed, post them in the comments below.
